Race and the Gospel

Fillipe do Vale

Today, race serves to divide one type of church, one type of Christian, one type of theology from another. Lamentable as this is, it is theologically insufficient.

Becoming Peacemakers

Ken Sande

The Book in Brief

Jim Leffel
Hebrews 1:1-3

The beginning of Hebrews paints a picture of who Christ is and what He has done for us.

Everything's Going According to Plan

Ben Foust
Romans 10:1-11:36

Referencing many Old Testament scriptures, Paul explains Israel's place in God's post-Christ plan.

Living with Hope

Scott Risley
1 Thessalonians 4:9-5:11

In God's plan for humanity, we were never meant to experience death, but since Adam and Eve sinned, we all have or will experience the evil of death. But Christians do not need to fear death as Scripture is clear, when we die, we go immediately to be with Jesus. Jesus promises to someday come back to earth to gather together those who have put their faith in Him, and take us to heaven, whether we have already died or are still alive on earth. Then the Tribulation period will begin.

Responding to Slander

Ben Foust
1 Peter 3:8-16

Peter challenges us to live a life that a watching world is compelled to demand an explanation for the hope they see in us. And we are to have ready a well-reasoned explanation that points to Jesus.

Spiritual Goals

Ryan Lowery
1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Paul calls for us to dedicate our lives to God instead of the world, because it will reap an eternal reward instead of a temporary one. Creating spiritual goals is a good way to be strategic about our dedication to God.

Want to Make an Impact?

Scott Risley
1 Thessalonians 2

If you want to make an impact in this world, you must start with asking God for eternal life. Then, share it boldly with others. Follow Paul's example of holding forth the Word of God and seeking only to please God. Learn to love with tenderness as well as toughness when needed.

Ten Key Elements of Serving Love

Dennis McCallum
1 Thessalonians 2:1-12

As Paul went around telling people the Good News, he made every effort to not invalidate his message by his behavior. He modeled these ten key elements of serving love. Serving love is counter-intuitive, based on the Good News, has integrity, is supremely valuable, and is also a "means of grace."
