The Whole World for Christ

Canco Casassa
Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Jesus has commissioned a global rescue mission and we each get to play a part. What else does scripture say about missions? Xenos has a specific vision of our role in missions that is guided by scripture. We will look at what this vision is as well as the key scripture that motivates this vision.

Everything is Going According to Plan Part One

Chris Hearty
Romans 9:1-24

Paul is addressing his Jewish audience, who was questioning if God's plan had failed. It seemed to the Jews, God had changed his mind about working through the Jewish people and instead had turned to the Gentiles. Paul explains that God's had a plan has not failed! From the beginning of human history God had a plan to rescue all people. He fulfilled that plan through Jesus Christ at the cross. From the beginning God's strategy was to bring about the Messiah through the Jewish people, who faithfully preserved the oracles of God for thousands of years.

Training A Prophet

Jim Leffel
1 Kings 17:1-24

The Word of the Lord is powerful. It attracts some while repulsing others. Elijah's role as a prophet was to speak for God. How can we share God's word in this day and age? This teaching will cover how the Word of God spreads.

Lee Campbell
Ephesians 5:18-21

God gives us every reason to be thankful, to trust him and to encourage others. In heaven, we will always be what we can choose to be now, filled with the Spirit.

3 Responses to Jesus

Ryan Lowery
Romans 5:8-10

There were many expectations that people had for who Jesus should be. Jesus preached that the solution to a broken relationship with God is not a behavior change but a transformed heart: this polarized the crowds listening to his teachings. When we are desperate, we turn to prayer as a last resort. We can try to bargain with God to get what we want. The Pharisees were indignant that Jesus was not meeting their expectations. Jesus taught that spiritual matters are far more important than the physical: they will last into eternity. \r\n

Wherever the Corpse is, There the Vulture Will Gather

Gary DeLashmutt
Hebrews 2:17

Jesus talks to his disciples about the end of the age and God's judgment of evil. The Bible reveals a God who takes evil seriously and whose judgment is in connection to His love. Through God's mercy, Jesus has taken on himself the judgment we deserve.

Agents of Grace in Marriage - Applying God's Truth at Home

Mary Beth Gladwell
Hebrews 2:17

We are called to show others mercy because of what God has done for us, and this is especially true in the context of marriage. We can sympathize, advocate, help, and stay truth-centered in our marriages and other relationships because of how God has done all of that for us. \r\n\r\n

Heart of Compassion

Jim Leffel
2 Samuel 9:1-13

David wants to know if there is anyone alive from Saul's family who he can show kindness to, for Jonathan's sake. Saul's servant Ziba tells David about Jonathan's son, Mephibosheth who is alive but crippled. David sends for Mephibosheth and tells him not to be afraid, that his Grandfather Saul's property belongs to him and that he will now sit at the Kings table. David shows compassion, generosity, and kindness to Mephibosheth.
