Isaiah 40:6-30

Summary

When we have a limited view of God's sovereignty and omnipotence, we think wrongly and become fearful and insecure, controlling, bitter, and in despair. But we are able to learn to trust God in these areas by 1) realizing our need for something greater than ourselves, 2) understanding our weakness and God's strength, and 3) understanding our finite smallness and God's infinite greatness. Trusting God leads to comfort, power to combat fear, power to sustain through trials, power to forgive and hope in the darkest situations.
