The disciples are confused by Jesus' predictions, since they were blinded by their own pre-conceptions of what Jesus was there to do. We can be spiritually blind as well, in denial or distracted from God's purpose. Unlike the blinded disciples, Zacchaeus' eyes are wide open as he goes to great lengths to meet Christ.
